Update May 2014

The last visit to the project was in February this year and proved to be very successful. 11 people from as far afield as London, Devon, Portsmouth, Brighton and of course Arundel spent a week observing the work that FEAST is involved with and looking for ways in which we might be able to help. We came back with some fantastic photographs which we hope to show later in the year together with an exciting new website.

FEAST visit Oct/Nov 2014

Due to popular request I will be organising another trip to the charity later this year. The plans haven’t been finalized as yet but if you are interested in coming with us please let me know as soon as possible. To give you a rough idea of the costs involved:

  • Flight £500
  • Visa £92
  • Accommodation £150
  • Extras £50

 FEAST Sponsorship

It was almost 8 years ago that we originally visited the FEAST project and it was following that visit that the first UK sponsorship scheme was set up. The fees have remained at £6 per month for a child and £4 for an elderly person since then. Over the last few years, as the economy has begun to improve, inflation has really taken hold and the cost of basic  necessities, not least rice, have gone up enormously. Fr Jeremias now has to subsidise our sponsor money from the common fund. In order to fully support the charity and after much thought, we have decided to follow the lead of our German friends who raised their sponsorship to €10 nearly 2 years ago. With this in mind, we intend to increase the fees to £8 and £5 respectively for new sponsors going forward. Whilst this doesn’t apply to you, if you feel that you would like to increase your giving please let me know, it would     certainly be very much appreciated. Thank you for your understanding.
