Born to a poor fishing family, Fr. Jeremias experienced firsthand the poverty that can blight the lives of those on Tamil Nadu’s coastline.
As one of seven and the only child in his village to go to school, Fr. Jeremias understands the life-changing value of education. Funded by his uncle, Fr Jeremias was able to train as a priest and his work took him to Germany where the idea for FEAST was born in 1988.
To date FEAST has enabled over 3000 poor and dispossessed children in Tamil Nadu to go to school.
