Basic education in India is free, but uniforms, books and equipment all cost money that poor families or widowed mothers simply don’t have.
When children reach the age at which they can work, there is often pressure from within the family for them to leave school and help to earn money for the family.
Over 6000 children have been supported by FEAST in this way, the majority of whom have gone on to further education, but there are many more in need.

MEET BIBIN
As a young boy, Bibin had a heart defect and desperately needed surgery. His father was a fisherman and could not afford the medical fees. FEAST came to the rescue and after recovering from the successful operation, Bibin began on the education sponsorship program.
His 2 brothers joined their father in fishing, but Bibin hated fishing and wanted to do something else. His father encouraged him and said, “We have had pain and suffering. You should have a better life”.
After leaving education in 2019 he went to work for a signage company where he stayed for the next 3 years. He has since bought a printing machine and has set up his own venture making simple signs to be applied to vehicles. The venture is thriving and the future looks very bright for Bibin.
